Candela® VBeam Description
The Candela® VBeam Pulse
Dye laser’s ability to treat
a wide range of skin conditions
makes it the most utilized laser
in our practice.
The Candela® VBeam Pulse
Dye laser is a “visible
light” laser; by delivering
an intense but gentle burst of
yellow light into the skin, it’s
energy is absorbed by hemoglobin
in blood vessels. The body then
removes these blood vessels during
the natural healing process.
How
Candela® VBeam Laser Works
By using an inherent property
of lasers called selective photothermolysis,
the Pulse Dye laser targets vessels
while sparing other skin structures
such as pigment cells (melanocytes),
hair follicles, etc. The incidence
of dark spots, white spots, and
scarring is extremely low. Additionally,
the Candela® VBeam uses dynamic
cooling of the skin to further
enhance the safety and comfort
profile.
In some cases, we combine Candela®
VBeam Pulse Dye laser treatment
with a topical photosensitizing
agent (aminolevulinic
acid) that enhances the laser’s
properties: this is called photodynamic
therapy or PDT.
The Candela® VBeam Pulse
Dye laser is used for a variety
of conditions in our clinic, both
cosmetic and non-cosmetic. Some
of these conditions include:
